Extra Extra consists of two parts: A physical specimen and a digital workbook. Together, they were created to showcase what is possible with lettering when you push the concepts of Emphasis, Embellishment, and Exaggeration. The printed specimen features real-world projects that put the ideas in the workbook to practice. These pages are intended to used as inspiration and act as a bit of a teaser for what is in the digital book. Spend some time with this reference material and build the often overlooked but highly necessary skill of observation.Study and examining the layouts and artwork and get excited about what you will learn in the digital portion. When you are ready to look behind the scenes and put in some work, then you can open up the digital workbook and dig in.
The digital workbook is broken up into 6 sections:Emphasis, Embellishment (2 parts), Exaggeration (2 parts), Extra. We dive into the ideas behind how each of these concepts can be utilized to deliver eye catching designs.Each section includes real-world examples, process info, practice tasks + extra credit assignments.
